Summer is Coming… (Blog Update)

…well, maybe just for me.

So I painfully still have a whole week of school left and before I go and start suffering during finals/exam week starting tomorrow, I just wanted to give you guys a quick preview, for a lack of a better word, of what’s coming this summer from myself. I just felt like I needed to write this, just to update you guys since you might’ve noticed I’m not too active here on WordPress, plus planning out stuff beforehand can be helpful.

1) Post More Frequently

With the combination of my insanely-unhealthy laziness, tough periods of writer’s block and the stresses of school, I didn’t really get to write as much I wanted to since I re-opened this blog. But now that I have three whole months of free time (except maybe summer studying and homework), this is a perfect opportunity for me to write the ideas and such that I have yet to finish or start.

That means segments like Seiyuu Spotlight, music reviews and the top # lists will be coming back, as well as projects/ideas that I have yet to start such as the series of posts inspired by my friend Remy Fool, showcasing five reasons why each member of the Love Live school idol group, μ’s, can be considered “best girl” (most likely in July). So, yeah. Not only will I try to achieve this goal on my personal blog but also on #moe404, where hopefully I can put out more reviews for you guys in the coming months.

2) Watch More Stuff

As I’ve been surrounded by a lot of people here on WordPress and also Twitter, suggesting and referencing various interesting-looking anime, it seems like my “Plan to Watch” list has been piling up even higher, on top of the dozens of anime I put there to begin with. So I think I’m planning to put a dent in that list, watching things I have yet to see such as the Ghibli films and now, I’ve gained a strong interest in watching the original Sailor Moon series. It looks fun!

3) Play More Visual Novels

I won’t put this choice as a guarantee, but I definitely am still interested in playing more visual novels! I kind of feel bad that I only have one VN completed under my belt but hopefully I can finish a couple in the free time I got.

4) More Collaborations?

Last month I had the great privilege to do my first real collaboration with another aniblogger, where I discussed about a very insightful Japanese idol documentary with my good friend Leap250 (btw Part 2 of that will be coming very soon). Honestly the first time collaborating with someone made me a little nervous (not because of Leap, of course not lol) but I definitely saw this aspect of being in a community really fun to do! Leap and I have a few more ideas/projects we’re still working on but other than that, I would love to work with other people if that kind of opportunity comes to me.

5) PODCASTS

If you didn’t know, I have done a couple of podcasts of my own, talking about random anime-related stuff, which you can find on my Soundcloud page.

They’re not particularly… good, but I’ve definitely learned a lot throughout that experience and what to do differently. And hearing the increasing amount of podcasts from my peers, it just makes me want to come back to doing so. That being said, look forward to a few podcasts from myself throughout this summer and hopefully they won’t be boring as hell like last time and more organized (also most likely it won’t be on Soundcloud anymore). Also, I might get one of my friends to come along with me on this podcasting journey so we’ll see until then. 🙂

I think that’s all I wanted to talk about today. I guess the last thing I want to say is that I really hope I can accomplish most of this list and I will try my hardest to do so!
